"Homecoming is more than the pride of the alumni –it is the spirit of enthusiasm for all.” (‘ 70 Tower).
The crisp days of autumn signaled the biggest fall semester event on campus: Homecoming. For alumni, it was a chance to renew old friendships and return to past glories. For current students, it was a time to rally together and have FUN. The week was packed with opportunities to participate in activities and events crowned by the game and dance.

“Some of us planned for months to achieve a well-organized week of various activities – contests, raffles, pep rallies, semi-formal dance with three bands, parade, selection of a queen”, (’69 Tower) convocations, teas, scholarships presented, homecoming breakfasts, alumni reunions, delightful songs, eye catching costumes, pie eating contest, letter burning, and, of course, FOOTBALL. Rain for several homecomings didn’t dampen student’s spirits, participation and enthusiasm. Soggy turf still saw a packed Nelson Field! These were great times.Fall 1965
